Cat Rescue Memoirs
In Memory of Snowwhite

Excerpts

Snowwhite - November 1996 to 17 February 1997

Snowwhite looked so overwhelmingly beautiful when she poked her small, lovely head out of the door and moved about so daintily: this is my best memory of her. Unfortunately, not all my house cats were very happy about allowing these new kittens out onto their territory and they did not want to reciprocate her kind manner. I could see her greeting them with ‘Hi, I am new, nice to meet you,’ but they weren’t as nice back to her. As my adult cats were much bigger than her, she ran back into the cage for safety but soon tried her luck again.

Lydia - Late August 2000 to 8 December 2001

One morning, while I was out picking up newspapers from someone who collected them for me to use for the litter trays in my caravan, his telephone rang. It was my mother, who said the elderly lady had rung to say she had sighted Lydia in her garden. Like a fire station getting prepared for an emergency, off I went as fast as the road restrictions allowed me to travel down to where she lived. My heart filled with hope as I sped off, praying I would get there in time.

Felicity & Tabitha

Felicity - 26 August to 20 December 1998

It was only with God’s help, I am sure, that we got Felicity back safe and sound to her new home! When I thought back about all the small things, like seeking her out, struggling to reach her, and having to carry her back to her new home, there were indeed, a lot of hurdles we had overcome.

Tabitha - 20 November to 3 December 1998

On 20 November 1998, I pulled up at the canal in Taizack’s car to feed the cats as usual and there, on the left side of the car, was a clean white and grey tortoiseshell kitten. I had no way of knowing where she had come from but cats were appearing so regularly I began to wonder where exactly they were coming from! I could not leave her there….
